Dave has a wealth of experience in building insurance and technology businesses. He began his career at General Electric, leading operations for lighting, medical systems and GE Capital. He then brought his operational expertise to the world of insurance, first as Chief Sourcing Officer for Allianz, where he ran global sourcing for technology, then leading the P&C and Life Companies at CUNA Mutual.
Most recently Dave served as CEO of AgPro Exchange, an open technology platform enabling farmers and their business partners to capture data from a range of sources, then normalise and securely store it for a complete analytical overview of their operations, along with sharing via a marketplace. Dave also sits on the boards of several insurance and manufacturing companies.
As CEO of Quantemplate, Dave shapes the business strategy, optimises its execution and develops talent within the company.
Marek co-founded Quantemplate because he saw an opportunity to get involved with solving the fascinating data challenges in the insurance industry. While studying Computer Science at Oxford – where he specialised in accelerating aeronautical modelling algorithms – he realised that the coming challenges for technology were moving beyond data analysis to combining disparate sources into a coherent whole.
He began his career in the oil industry, building a real-time analytics system
to join and cleanse inconsistently structured information from a vast array of
drill bit sensors to improve their operational efficiency. His subsequent fintech
experience includes dramatically reducing the latency (and increasing the profitability)
of hedge fund trading systems. This work provided the inspiration for Quantemplate,
where he has focused on high speed responses to analytical queries to support an
immersive data integration and exploration environment.
Andre brings 20 years of commercial software engineering experience Quantemplate. After gaining an MSc in Computer Science at Bristol University, he worked for Motorola, Symbian and Nokia, where he managed large teams developing complex visual applications.
Later ran his own start-up building sophisticated developer tools delivered through a powerful web-based UI. At Quantemplate, he concentrates on building an awesome core team and implementing new technologies. In his free time, he shreds the Alps and himself on his mountain bike.
Graham is responsible for growing the business in the European and global markets.
With a background in IT, Graham has been involved in implementing technology and business change within the insurance industry over the past 16 years. Before joining Quantemplate, Graham spent 11 years SunGard/FIS where he had responsibility for selling insurance solutions in the UK, Africa and the Middle East regions.
Graham works out of offices in Glasgow and London.
Scott enjoys building, scaling and growing businesses and has been able to successfully achieve this by innovating, solving customer problems and developing high-performing teams.
He spent his first 10 years in the insurance industry and specialized in the assessment and underwriting of large property risk. The next 18 years he spent at RMS, building and scaling the Bermuda and North America Business. During this time he developed a passion for solving the data and analytics challenges companies struggled with and the technology challenges inhibiting their ability to easily gain insights into the business.
Scott believes that by delivering cutting edge, flexible and non-invasive technology Quantemplate can help re/insurance companies harness their data and deliver the insights needed to drive business decisions.
A core member of the founding team, Tom gained his MA in Communication Design from Central Saint Martins, where he specialised in wayfinding helping people navigate spaces. He subsequently worked for architects, designing signage systems for hospitals and schools. Tom’s mission at Quantemplate is to create a frictionless user experience, bring clarity to complex functions and ensure every pixel is considered.
He has served as Visiting Lecturer in design in Leeds and as a design advisor to two London galleries. In a previous life he was a rock climber, and is still occasionally sighted on the gritstone.
Iain joined Quantemplate having previously worked for 17 years at large global insurer in the field of Catastrophe Modelling and Exposure Management. Most recently Iain was Catastrophe Modelling Manager for QBE Re, overseeing the function for 5 different offices in Europe and the US. The role presented a number of process and data challenges that were overcome by building a robust framework of systems whilst maintaining a focus on delivering transparent results to key stakeholders. Iain is passionate about the opportunities that new technology can bring to the insurance industry and is looking forward to helping clients understand and reap the rewards of the Quantemplate system. Whilst his experience has mainly been on the Property class of business he also has experience of Marine and Liability insurance products.
Outside of work Iain enjoys spending time with his young family and when time permits you will find him exploring the countryside on foot or on his bike.
Adrian co-founded Quantemplate with his friend Marek Nelken, having spent most of his career as a Lloyd’s reinsurance broker. At Howden, where he worked from 2004, he established a reinsurance treaty desk specialising in emerging markets, and developed a suite of stochastic loss-forecasting models.
An entrepreneur by nature, Adrian set up an equities trading strategy with Marek in 2010, establishing a working relationship that would come to full fruition with Quantemplate. Adrian is based in San Francisco, developing Quantemplate’s US presence and building investor relations. Otherwise, he follows the wind and waves as a dedicated kite-surfer.
